Moscow is appealing against politicizing the issue of the RS Day referendum, and believes it does not undermine the territorial integrity of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said this in a statement.
"We are against an artificial politicization of the issue. We view at the referendum held on September 25 in the context of realization of powers of the two entities that are envisaged by the Dayton Agreement, including establishing and determining holidays," said the statement.
"We are confident that this step is in no way aimed at undermining the territorial integrity of Bosnia-Herzegovina and its 'decentralized constitutional architecture' provided by the Dayton Agreement," Zakharova added.
Russia as a guarantor of the peace agreement for Bosnia-Herzegovina supports its key principles, she said, adding that Moscow considers it unacceptable that the high representative in Bosnia is using the "Bonn powers" when it comes to the results of the referendum.
According to Zahkarova, Russia thinks there is no alternative to finding lasting solutions to the current issues in Bosnia-Herzegovina through dialogue.
